After beating cancer in 2014, I realized that what I ate may have attributed to my condition. Although I maintained reasonable eating habits, in the years before processed meat, fried foods, and sugar-laden alcoholic drinks were part of my routine. Little did I know that I would have greater concerns than putting on extra weight.
White sugar, processed flour, and red meat have been linked to a number of chronic ailments. But what about those trendy diets that say to eat one thing but not the other? Or even the old-fashioned food pyramid that most of our parents (or grandparents) grew up with?

Nowadays, it seems that all of the great-tasting foods are made with grains and/or plants. Bacon, burgers, fries, pizza. Even sweet treats have caught a break in preventing sugar spikes, or is it just a marketing ploy?
And what is the cost? I'm not talking about breaking the bank at some high-end grocer or trendy restaurant but does this new food revolution live up to the hype? My mission is to get answers and confirm if there is a connection to food and chronic illness in most humans.
